In taking a quick glance at our web site’s visitors Derrick noticed a bunch of hits to a page we had both forgotten existed! Back in 2003, Craig created a lesson plan for teachers to create a Tuskegee Airmen Day. Given that February is Black History Month we’re glad to have gotten the reminder about that resource! Useful for Middle School and above you’ll find everything you need to learn about the Tuskegee Airmen and a comprehensive set of activities students can work on. In case you don’t already know about them, the Tuskegee Airmen were black military pilots who were trained at Tuskegee Airfield in Alabama who then distinguished themselves in combat during WWII. Their heroism and stand against segregation led to the elimination of white only facilities on military bases.
The lesson plan is free and can be downloaded at: https://www.reachandteach.com/dls/tuskegee.php
